I thought I’d talk a bit today about somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit… The Magic Castle in LA (feel free to click on the link if you aren’t sure of what it is).
As discussed in one of my previous articles late last year, I get the inspiration to do what I do from pretty much all forms of live entertainment. More often than not magicians learn their craft by watching other performers, and I’m no different in that.
In being so passionate about magic and what impact it can have, going to see The Magic Castle and even perform there would be a dream. Here’s why:
History
Having been open for business since early 1963, it’s easy to see why some call it the ‘mecca of magic’. Not only will thousands of magicians have passed through its doors, but the best have been celebrated at their Academy of Magical Arts too. That brings me onto my next point…
Houdini Séance
All fans of magic, stunts and all-round entertainment are likely to admire Harry Houdini. The Magic Castle has its own ‘Houdini Séance’ for special guests, which I can only imagine is a tribute to the genius of the man…
Performances
On top of the memorabilia, bars and so on, The Magic Castle’s shows are meant to be quite something. According to their website, “a typical evening features magic shows that range from miracles right under your nose to full stage illusions that stun an entire room.”
As always, if you’re based in the Wakefield, Leeds or surrounding Yorkshire area and want to find out what I can bring to your next event, feel free to have a look through my services page here.
You can also talk through your requirements with me by calling 07838 157 044.
